13.01.2016Nice SIXENSE Soldata monitors Nice Tramway
4 years after the road tunnel project in Toulon and in addition to our permanent Aix-en-Provence office’s activity, SIXENSE Soldata is now set up at a new location in the South of France to provide real-time monitoring for the new metro line project in Nice.
The Owner, Métropole Nice Côte d’Azur, assigned the Joint Venture Thaumasia (Bouygues, Soletanche Bachy, CSM Bessac, Systra, Colas Midi Méditerranée, SNAF Routes and Garelli) to carry out the urban tunnel project of 3,2 km long with 4 underground stations for the T2 tramway line in Nice.
SIXENSE Soldata will provide the monitoring of this project carried out in delicate underground conditions, which require precise and reliable monitoring of the building’s stability located in the influence zone. As usual in the case of urban tunnelling projects, the instrumentation will include a large variety of instruments, about 10 Cyclops moved at different locations along the route, inclinometers, strain gauges, vibration sensors, piezometers and manual levelling. The first installation were carried out back in 2014 by our team based in Aix and in the autumn of 2015 a local team was mobilized on site to prepare and manage the monitoring system during the excavation of the stations and the TBM tunnel construction phase, an intensive phase beginning in early 2016.
The construction work will be finished at the end of 2017 and the line will be operational in 2018.
